Tina Kaffeyah! Demo

New demo by these guys out of Philly, PA. Some nice riff-riding with a post-rock kind of feel to them. Just four songs, but not a song under 4 minutes, so your get your money's worth...err, click's worth. All instrumental stuff from these guys, and I've re-upped their link as mp3s, so there should be no hassles with any media players giving those mp4s the stinkeye.

Winning - This is an Ad for Cigarettes

Winning is a very odd band. This is their first release, and I'm not sure how to review this one at all...I guess they're an indie alternative band that was dropped, and now is broken. Think a broken music box that still plays but doesn't sound...right... They pull it off with ease, and honestly I'd recommend this to ayone who likes Calabi Yau or U.S. Maple. A much more laid back sound.

Idolss - I'm Not Ice Cream Demo

Idolss are from Dayton, Ohio. They play a unique technicalish-style hardcore reminiscent of Daughters and early Locust (think the Man is the Bastard split, the stuff before there were any keys), and a little bit of Faeries thrown in there. Not a bad mixture, and not a copy-cat band either. These guys are 100% legit, and on their own terms. They get into some of the sweetest grooves I've heard in awhile (check out 'Swazi' at about 2:20) and some really great drumming and guitarwork on top of that. Let's expect some great stuff from them in the future!

Be friendly!

A Fine Boat, That Coffin! - The Second Nail

So, as I'm sure many of you fellers know, European screamo bands are super fucking popular these days. It's pretty dead in the States, but in Europe, there's an overabundance of awesome, intense, and crazy screamo all over the place. This is a great example of this, a really overly talented screamo outfit from Germany. They have a new release called the Morse Zeichen CD-ep on Tor Johnson Records, you should get that shit, too.
